Free up with Palette Knife

I find Palette knife so freeing and often expresses motion or action and energy for me.  The various marks that you achieve when you experiment with your touch as to whether you apply pressure or a light touch are wonderful surprises and better than if you tried to make them yourself. So it is not just your mediums and tools it how you apply pressure and release and the angle in which you approach your strokes.

Why This Painting

You may not like this painting and that is fine, but the reason why I use this to teach Palette Knife is because it has the most techniques within it.  Simply applying the paint, cutting in, scumbling, blending, pushing, and cascading. Finishing off with splash effects.

Why would you benefit

If you wish to free up and move away from being in control which is tight and restricting, this is ideal for you.  It is freeing and enables you to trust in your tools, mediums and indeed yourself. It is much more forgiving than you realise as you can have a conversation between the dark and the light and transform your initial strokes. This is the ideal safe place to practice change.
